The Viewpoints Technique
- embodied awareness, presence and creativity
YOU CANNOT USE A DISCOUNT CODE FOR THIS WORKSHOP.
This 2-day workshop is for anyone interested in presence, movement, listening with the entire body and exploring creativity on the floor with a group of fellow participants.
The Viewpoints is a movement improvisation technique that trains the performer's embodied awareness to time and space and a group’s sense of ensemble. It is based on deconstruction of the linear understanding of drama, and helps develop presence and creativity through the body. The Viewpoints was developed as a post-modern dance technique by Mary Overlie and adapted for any performer by Anne Bogart and her NYC-based theatre – SITI Company.
During the workshop, we will practice The Viewpoints and use them to create short scenes and movement sequences.
All participants are welcome. No previous knowledge or experience required, only openness for interacting with others in space and time.
Workshop duration: 2 sessions of 6 hours (excl. break).
Workshop language: English
